Background and Trainings

Joy Belamarich, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker who earned her master’s degree from the Silberman School of Social Work, where she specialized in childhood trauma. She began her clinical training at Montefiore Medical Center, participating in the Group Attachment-Based Intervention, where she developed a strong foundation in attachment-based work with a focus on psychosocial stressors. She went on to work at the Association to Benefit Children in Bronx, NY, providing trauma-informed care to young children and their families. For nearly a decade, Joy has dedicated her career to helping interrupt intergenerational cycles of trauma through early, developmentally attuned interventions. Her work has included dyadic therapy with mothers and infants, as well as individual and family therapy grounded in a systems-based and culturally responsive approach. She has also worked within New York City schools, supporting teachers in navigating emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges.

Joy now runs her private practice virtually. In addition to her clinical work, she provides supervision and consultation services to clinicians seeking support in their clinical insight and confidence in practice.
